UH's Elimimian Named WAC Co-Defensive Player Of 2008

HONOLULU -- The Western Athletic Conference Monday named University of Hawaii linebacker Solomon Elimimian the co-defensive player of the year.Elimimian is the sixth in the conference in tackles and became UH's all-time leading tackler. He is the school's third WAC defensive player of the year.Elimimian is one of seven Warriors who made the All-WAC first and second teams.
All-WAC First Team OL John Estes DB Ryan Mouton LB Adam Leonard LB Solomon Elimimian All-WAC Second Team WR Michael Washington DL David Veikune DL Keala Watson Linebacker Adam Leonard earned his third appearance in the All-WAC roster. Leonard was on the first team last year and the second team in 2006.

Four Warriors were chosen for at least their second time.Nevada's Colin Kaepernick was named the offensive player of the year, San Jose State's Jarron Gilbert was the other co-Defensive player of the year and Boise State quarterback Kellen Moore was named the freshman of the year. Boise State’s Chris Petersen was voted the WAC's coach of the year.
